What Guests Are Saying
Dinkey Creek offers a beautiful natural setting with excellent hiking opportunities and friendly camp hosts who provide helpful service. The campground is well-maintained, and many visitors appreciate the spacious campsites and clean facilities. However, issues such as the lack of functioning flush toilets and potable water have caused some inconveniences, alongside noise from generators and nearby campers. Overall, many families enjoy returning to this campground for its charm and the memorable experiences it provides.

Good - campground was fairly empty so that was nice for my wife & I.
Bad - campsite we reserved online was terrible regarding parking my 25’ travel trailer. There was a huge tree near the entry that made backing in a nightmare. There should’ve been a warning / restriction noted on your reservation website that this site isn’t accessible to 25’ and > trailers. I have RV’d for 15 years and this site took everything I had to make it work!!!!! Please have your employees check the site I used at Dinkey Creek CA campground (I don’t remember which site it was now - you can look it up) and update your reservation description. Thank you.

Clean campground with beautiful views if you pick the right spot. Nice places to walk, which is good because most of the bathrooms seemed to be closed for maintenance so I had plenty of opportunity to explore to find open ones. I imagine this might have been because it was in September, the end of the season, but it seemed excessive and there wasn't an explanation given and the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Dinkey Creek campground is our favorite mountain campground. Camp hosts are always helpful and friendly. Would really help RVers if there were some "hookups" available. Make "loop" roads a little wider and remove posts to make backing in easier. Have camped here for many years , the flush CXT's and paved campsites were a big improvement.

Best campground + best rangers = best time ever! Had a blast hiking around the campground and surrounding areas, swimming in the creeks, and looking up at the stars at night. Couldn't have asked for a better place to camp with friends. Plus, dog friendly!

Our campsite was not clean nor was our firepit dumped out. The restrooms were closed all weekend and we had to keep driving up the road to go. Never have I had such a bad experience.

Lovely site. A bit loud over holiday weekends even late at night. Beautiful natural pools and hiking. Short drive to some amazing redwoods. If leaving at the end of a holiday weekend, know that it's going to be a long drive down the mountain.

I have camped at Dinkey Creek nearly every summer/fall since 1970.
In 2019, there were much more issues with non-working restrooms. Not good.
And, there was a lot more noise from tree felling and other construction type work, so noise early morning and through the day was noticeable and disliked.
I plan to be there again in August of 2020.
Dinkey Creek continues to be my favorite campsite anywhere in the world!
