What Guests Are Saying

Camp Richardson's Badgers Den offers a beautiful location with convenient access to the beach, restaurants, and activities, making it a cherished spot for many visitors. Most reviewers highlighted the cleanliness of the campgrounds and the friendliness of the staff, with some enjoying amenities like the ice cream shop and bike rentals. However, issues such as noise from fellow campers and inadequate bathroom supplies were noted, along with challenges related to bear safety and enforcement of quiet hours, suggesting room for improvement in management.

The proximity to the gorgeous beach and restaurants was great and we very much enjoyed the ice cream shop, however, if we ever stay here again we will be looking into cabins where we could potentially get better sleep, more privacy and a way to lock up our gear. Our campsite was very cramped and we were up against several very loud groups, one of which did not adhere to quiet hours. Unfortunately, the night patrol did not pick up on this group, but after talking to the front desk of the lodge, they did a few rounds the following night, which I was thankful for. Because there are bears in the campground at night, we were constantly woken by car alarms set off to scare them. I did see a bear at 2am on my way back from the bathrooms, but the moment it saw me, it fled. It was a comfort knowing the bear was afraid of humans and if people don't understand that Black Bears are not typically aggressive, I can see why some people were afraid. Needless to say, I would never leave deodorant/toothpaste in my tent- aside from food, obviously. In any case, we had a lot of trouble getting a good night's sleep. Also, someone unfortunately stole our Paddle Board, which made us very sad.

That place has it all—it’s spectacular, beautiful, and safe, and the people who work there are very friendly. I can also walk to the lakeshore from that favorite camping spot.

Overall a good experience. Short walk to the beach, hot showers, plenty of space in the camp-spots. There’s wifi at the mail hotel building and a nice gift short. As for cons, wish toilets were individual not stalls and thats its kinda noisy because of being along the main street. Lots of traffic. However, only 1 bear walked into the campground within our 2 nights there.

The site was very exposed, extremely loud campers and the quiet hours not enforced. Bears in area and horns going off all night. Showers use coins that you have to get at front office. Very inconvenient. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly which was a plus.

Overall it's a pretty solid campsite although our spot was modestly challenged. To get the RV level, we had to park it on the far side of the site so we couldn't connect to the water (we used the showers in the bathroom and just filled our water tank before setting up so ended up not mattering). On the plus side, our starlink had 99.5% uptime.

The Richardson Resort is nice. You're a few minute walk from the beach. There's a general store, ice cream shop, coffee shop and a few other stores a minute walk away.

Got here very late so didn’t get to explore the campground much, but the campsite was large and accommodating, with a fire ring, picnic table, and bear locker. The area is very nice.

Spot and camping wise it was great. Wish others respected quiet time and had better etiquette for the public shared restroom. Overall great place and will be back.
