We love the place .we really enjoyed camping at this site. Very close to amenities and pope beach. Only the downside of this campsite is restroom. It’s very old and not maintained properly.

Loved the location. Close to the bathroom but a short walk to showers. Close to the roads so you can hear the cars but other than that it was really nice!

Great location and love having the restaurant, coffee and ice cream shops nearby. The bathrooms and showers were pretty gross this year though

My rating is because I have faith that improvements can be made to this beautiful part of South Lake Tahoe. This tent only site was in a nice location but some camp sites were too close to the streets as I’d prefer. You can hear the cars zooming by all day and night if you get a site close to the street. The bathrooms and showers didn’t have vents so it was unpleasantly humid and stinky. They’d run out of toilet paper so bring your own! The drains were not working so the water was overflowing in the showers. The tokens would sometimes be eaten without water, some stalls didn’t provide hot or even warm water. You had to buy tokens at another campsite so make sure to get them in the mornings because when they close then you can’t get them. I would say all the staff were friendly and helpful. They told us about the shower problems and gave us extra coins in case they didn’t work. I say that I would stay here again only if these things were fixed.

This was the most expensive but worst campsite I have ever stayed at. Showers don’t work. No tree coverage. Bathrooms disgusting. Loud all night long (on a tuesday). Litter on campsite from previous campers. No on site staff. Bears on the grounds at night eating loads of food left out by campers. Must check in at a DIFFERENT camp which was never specified. Save yourself the frustration and money and camp at Fallen Leaf which is much more secluded, well kept, has helpful and kind staff, and has respectful campers!

the large family/group at the site next to me were loud well into the night. neighboring campers had to walk over and ask them to please quiet down. the group was large enough they asked to park one of their cars in my spot. BUT the worst part was they left ALL of there cooking pots, supplies, and food out on the picnic table all night, attracting a large bear which then woke up everyone all around between 2am and 4am. while this was happening the group never did anything to scare the bear away or clean up their stuff to prevent it from coming back. so no one got any sleep because of this.
PLEASE LISTEN TO THE RANGERS AND RESPECT THE RULES AND YOUR FELLOW CAMPERS.

There was garbage all over our site, especially pieces of water balloons. I was grateful for the restrooms and showers but they were in filthy condition.
We had some extremely rude neighbors, they were asked to leave around 1 AM, thanks for that.
We did enjoy the short walk to the lake and ice cream.
