What Guests Are Saying
Meeks Bay Resort is praised for its beautiful location near Lake Tahoe, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite spot for families and campers. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, lovely beach, and well-maintained campsites, with some returning for decades. However, there are concerns about noise from nearby roads and overcrowding at campsites, along with issues related to staffing and amenities that could use improvement.

The location was perfect
My campsite was just a short distance from the beach and we got beautiful sunrise pictures over the lake

We booked at loop 3 camp ground. What we didn’t realized was it is right next to the street, therefore quite noisy, there are also no showers at the grounds. There is also a wood working factory close by and it was super loud starting in the morning hours. We booked 4 nights and left after the first. We reached out to retrieve our money invested and they denied the request.

We love the location for family! The prices are too far beyond reasonable for the accommodations, but we try to look beyond that just to be together.
* New floors help to keep the rooms clean.
* Kitchens are very sparse.
* Living room doesn't have side tables.
* No dish pan
* No kitchen workspace

We stayed here for 2 nights in the tent section. This is an overcrowded noisy unpleasant campground with no space/privacy between campsites designed for urban cityfolk that wouldn't know any better. Each campsite is crammed into the next so you are on top of each other (more like one giant campsite you are sharing). The campground is situated right next to the busy main road around Lake Tahoe so your tent shakes with the loud noise of every passing vehicle. The rules regarding noise after 10pm are not enforced so it is loud & uncomfortable long into the night. The rules pertaining to max amount of campers per site is also not enforced, there were over 20 people at campsites on either side of us. All rules pertaining to normal campground etiquette & common sense are ignored at this site. Campsites were not posted with reservation information and the camp hosts ran out of firewood to provide. Camp hosts were non existent to enforce or engage with any guests. The only positive is that you can walk to the lake but you would be better suited to stay at proper campground and drive to a day use lake lot. Not being familiar with camping in this area of the Sierra & also due to lack of avail we made the mistake of camping here. If you are a true outdoorsman and nature lover looking for some peace and tranquility in nature I would recommend avoiding this campsite.

Sites are too closed to one another. The noise from car passing is loud especially at night.
