What Guests Are Saying
Meeks Bay Resort is praised for its beautiful location near Lake Tahoe, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite spot for families and campers. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, lovely beach, and well-maintained campsites, with some returning for decades. However, there are concerns about noise from nearby roads and overcrowding at campsites, along with issues related to staffing and amenities that could use improvement.

Only thing this place lacks is showers in tent only campground. Overall we had a great time, we will be coming back.

We've enjoyed Meeks Bay for years, but this trip was disappointing due to inconsiderate campers. Loud music played late, sites were overcrowded, and one group dug a pit in the ground for a barbecue, leaving smoking coals behind when they left. No camp host came by to enforce the rules.

We camped for one night and loved the location. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The only comment I have is that the actual camping sites were hard to determine which areas went with which site.

The cabins are very clean and the view is beautiful. It was perfect for our family reunion. Please know that there is no way to contact the resort directly for they do not have a phone at the lodge, per the manager. Other than that it’s a wonderful spot!

The facility is very nice a bit far from town; but, a lot of things to do around it.
during my five night stay, I talked to several of the employees all were very nice and helpful; but, on my last day, I was trying to buy one additional token to make sure we all took a shower before my long drive home; the person at the counter (she did not have a name tag); was very rude and told me that she did not have any tokens and that there was nothing she could do; I asked if the people in the carts (cleaning crew) had a key to perhaps sell me a token and she told me "I must be dumb, as I don't understand you", I told her that I was not been rude to her and that she should not be talking to me in that matter", she basically told me (in a condescending tone) that she did not know if they had the key and said there was nothing she could do.
This employee should be retrained to provide better customer support. She could have easily contacted the staff to see if they had the key for the showers and sell me a token, I was extremely disappointed with the encountered and the fact that I drove home without a shower was the icing on the cake.

This campground is very clean as well as the bathrooms. It is walking distance to the beach.

The Bluejay cabin was not ready at 3:00 due to cleaning employees not showing for work. Small bottles of shampoo conditioner and lotion fell off the shelf above the water heater in the bathroom and were difficult to retrieve. Some had fallen from earlier guest stays. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dinnerware. The mattress was hard and it got very cold. We could have used another blanket. The view of the lake is amazing and the parking was convenient.

We appreciated the quick response to issues that arose. We did the free kayak tour at Sugar Pine and it was super fun!
