What Guests Are Saying
Meeks Bay Resort is praised for its beautiful location near Lake Tahoe, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite spot for families and campers. Many visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, lovely beach, and well-maintained campsites, with some returning for decades. However, there are concerns about noise from nearby roads and overcrowding at campsites, along with issues related to staffing and amenities that could use improvement.

You are very lucky to have Jeannie as manager! She keeps an eye out everywhere, works so hard , and remains pleasant to everyone. She is the heart of this site and keeps it running well.

We stayed in the Kehlet Mansion which was a wonderful experience. Very rustic but lots of fun for friends to enjoy a great week together relaxing, bike riding, hiking and swimming.

Beautiful RV sites with full hook ups. Sites are clean and public bathrooms were cleaned and stocked up during the holiday weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful. They monitor campground several times a day. We have been coming here for over 20 years and love it here. Beaches were cleaned and store sells ice and firewood. Only complaint was there are no dogs allowed at the resort and there were a few at the beach and at the campsites.

Pretty and friendly campground, but the sites are not marked well (there is a north and south camp area that are numbered the same.) some communication and management problems made it difficult for us and another family that thought we were double booked in the same site. Proximity to the beach is the main highlight.

Meeks Bay campground is a good central location for access from Tahoe City to Emerald Bay. Tahoe City for good eats, shopping, and float trip down the Truckee river. Emerald Bay for kayaking and sightseeing, with lots of great hiking trails in between

We come to Meeks Bay and stay in the same cabins every year and have been doing so the past 25+ years. We enjoy proximity to the beach and the chance to get together as a family. I will have to say that the maintenance of the properties has gone down over the years. There were several things either missing or broken on our recent trip. That was a very large inconvenience. Both showers had issues and even though one was able to be repaired the other was not so one of our cabins did not have a shower for the entire four days that we were there. There were couple of other issues as well with one in particular resulting in an injury that had to be treated at a local emergency room, so I really do hope that they start to pay more attention to the condition of their properties and proper cleaning and sanitation of them as well. Even though this last trip was less than ideal we will return and hope that they take more pride in the property and make all necessary repairs and tend to the upkeep to avoid these situations.

We love that it is tents only, no dogs on the south side, as this was always our favorite place to camp. Love the upgrades to the fire pit, soap, paper towels in the bathroom, and the automatic motion detection light. Keep up the good work. Would love a hot shower on the south side though.
