Overall experience was good because just so grateful to be able to stay inside the park. However, it was inconvenient to have to change sites each of 3 nights, just to have a site. It is the most convenient campground in the park, and is served by a very good shuttle system to the primary attractions such as Sherman Tree and Moro Rock. The campground and facilities are beat down, but the location is top notch with the modern store and visitor center there.

Great campground along the river. At it's altitude, we could have a camp fire! Well stocked market and restaurant are very close.

The campsite was great. the tent pads were excellent and level. The area was clean, beautiful and quiet. The only reason it was not a 5 was the condition of the restrooms. They were not terrible just need updating and cleaned.

Campsite #128 is amazing for it's privacy and secludedness. It is the very farthest campsite so you will only have a couple of neighbors. It is nestled amongst several trees and adjacent to the river.

The lodgepole campground was cleaner than I expected. The space between campsites was definitely a little on the cozier side, as in I felt at quiet hours, that we could really hear other campers. Other than that, the trash and bear lockers were great, the bathrooms were serviceable, and the Lodgepole market was super convenient, albeit expensive. This is a great site that has beautiful views with convenient amenities. For our first time, I would say I would choose Lodgepole again. It felt safe and we were so close to nature.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
