I loved the location and peacefulness of my site. I could hear the river flowing as I fell to sleep. I did have a bear walk through my site, but it didn't bother me. Just out for an evening stroll. :)

Our site was nice, bigger than normal I believe for a national park site. The area though was not private at all where the picnic table and firepit were located. Also, it appeared that a lot of people were having group events at this campground on the weekend we were there which led to a much less private environment. Both nights we were here, late June, a lot of bear traffic came in at night. It's not a complaint or a positive, just a warning. Several times each night, a lot of campers set off their car alarms to scare away bears (which I didn't know was a thing but it is here). We enjoyed it here, it was a 15 min walk to the visitor center and a 10 min drive down to the end of the road. Everywhere we visited in the canyon was excellent and overall, this was a wonderful location - 4 stars because it appears that this location is group friendly.

Excellent! Clean site in a stunning setting. Rachael the check-in ranger was super nice. The store at Cedar Grove Lodge was nicely stocked and so necessary since the campsite is far from civilization. Bathrooms were just fine but could use a facelift and some cleanin'.

Very nice and plenty to do. The river is very beautiful and cool. Would highly recommend. The drive may be exhausting but it’s very worth it.

Sites very close. Neighbors did not observe quiet time. Not enough bathrooms for Aires. We were in site 48.

We loved our stay at this campground and this specific site! There was plenty of space and it felt secluded enough from other sites. The only thing is that I wish the bear food storage box had been closer to the picnic table.

The gate was closed when we got the campground although we made a reservation through recreation.gov. The campground refused to refund. I sent a refund request several times, but I am still waiting for their reply. We, including 1 year old son, ended up to stay Aspen Campground instead. Aspen Campground was great.

I stayed at Site 46, which is a very good spot. The campground was quiet and clean. Watch out for the wildlife, especially the raccoons. They have absolutely no fear of people and will practically snatch food right out of your hands. Even the squirrels and Blue Jays look like they're sizing you up. Overall a good campground if you can get a spot in the shade.
