Site 50 (and a lot of sites in this campground) has no tree cover. This site was flat and very conveniently located just by the bathroom and water spigot (and big enough to not be disturbed by people going to the bathroom and water). Even the trash cans were regularly cleared and did not smell. The bathroom has a sink and running water, and was genuinely one of the cleanest bathrooms I’ve camped near.
There were almost-hourly car alarms going off throughout the two nights we stayed (Juneteenth weekend) seemingly to scare off bears.

This was a great campsite in a cool location. Facilities were awesome and in good condition. We also got to experience some wildlife excitement. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Park is wonderful. The campground is well kept and easy to campi in. There are fewer trees than I wish. However, there are new tress planted in the open areas of the campground. So the future is bright. It was hot.

You’re near the roads end & the Mist Trail and there are both great. Also make sure and see Roaring River Falls. Being able to shower at the nearby Lodge is a huge bonus

Very clean. Ranger presence - appreciated. Trash cans centrally located in the campground, be prepared for a walk but does cut down on metal noise. Sparse water spigots, however nicely marked with “do not wash dishes or brush teeth here” Please take water back to your site for this and do not contaminate ground water TY! A lot of sites without shade.

Picked a campsite close to the river, which was very relaxing to watch the sunset and take in the scenery before venturing off to backpack from Road's End. It is not accessible to swim in, and better to go to Muir Rock at Road's End for that. The facilities were great--lots of space in the bear boxes, bathrooms were neat, clean, and stocked with toilet paper, and there was a washing sink for dishes. Multiple trash bins to dispose of waste. Contrary to many concerns about the level of the sites, as a tent camper, this did not bother me. This perhaps applies more to those bringing RVs. If you're interested in a convenient place to camp before heading out to day hike, or backpack, this campground will meet your needs.

The campground is in a great location. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We had site 55. It was fine except there was no level area for our tent.

Good family site just a lot of pine cones! Will be back for amazing stargazing but some noisy neighbors. I don’t think this site had a camp host because that would have helped out during quiet hours 😂

From Fresno, CA, follow California State Highway 180 East to Cedar Grove. Moraine Campground is located on the left (north) side of the road .75 miles east of Cedar Grove. Vehicles over 22 feet are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum when entering through Sequoia National Park. Vehicles over 22 feet should use the Kings Canyon National Park Entrance.
Moraine Campground is accessible via California State Highway 180, which leads east from Fresno to Cedar Grove.

General
- If your campsite remains vacant for 24 hours after your arrival date it will be cancelled and made available on rec.gov. You will be charged for the first night's campsite fee and a $10 cancellation fee, all other fees after that will be refunded. Recreation.gov policies apply to all reservations, cancellations, refunds and date changes. Call (559) 565-3792 if you will be arriving 24 hours after your arrival date so your site won't be cancelled. Upon making a campground reservation: Site occupants agree to follow ALL campground rules. Failure to comply may result in a fine. You are responsible for your guests.
- Quiet Hours 10pm to 6am- Music, talking, and generators should not be audible beyond your immediate campsite. Unreasonable noise is prohibited any time of day.
- Tire Chains may be required at any time. Be prepared at any time of year for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Check Road Conditions at nps.gov/seki. Vehicles longer than 22 feet (including trailers) are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum. Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible. Falling Objects- Don't linger under dead, cracked, or broken branches. Run if you hear cracks or snapping from tree roots, trunks, or branches (know that sometimes there is no sound, and very little time to react). Report falling branches or trees to a ranger. A California state fishing license is required to fish in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Sequoia National Forest lakes and streams. Fishing licenses may be available at National Park and National Forest markets.
