My favorite part about this campsite is the sound of the river as you sleep. The campsite is fairly spaced out, which was nice. You didn't feel like your neighbors were intruding or right on top of you. Our spot was great because it was close to the bathroom, a water spout and the river.

Reserving a campground on Recreation.gov when there are no photos available is really a pain. I booked a site and showed up to find that my "site" was right at the entrance gate, next to the garbage cans and the bathroom. I didn't sleep a wink as folks were entering the campground until about 3:00AM, each one of them having to drive past with their headlights aiming directly into my camp spot. There was not a ranger anywhere to be seen and the camp was packed full, 3 to 4 cars in many of the sites, fires burning during a fire ban and music going until the wee hours of the morning. I would NOT recommend.

Kind of a lowlife place, potheads, etc..
People will cross over your campsite to get to the restrooms pretty much all the time.
If you’re looking for a better experience, go to Mineral King or to the eastern side of the Sierra.

Great campground with many sites, it was perfect for our 30 foot motor home. Though there are a lot of sites within the campground you still have the feeling of having you’re on space free of interference from neighboring sites
