Sentinel campground at Cedar Grove. We had a great time. A bit smoky with the fire at Sequoia Park. And, this late in the season, the water level is pretty low.
I will try to book a room at the lodge for next year so that some others can come who can’t sleep on the ground.
And next time, I will endeavor to to book earlier so that I can get a site near the river.

The campsite was very good, but the ban on wood campfires and the drifting smoke from wildfires dampened the experience. I enjoyed hikes in Zumwalt Meadows, the River Trail, and Bubbs Creek. The hike up the Hotel Creek Trail to the Outlook over the canyon was marred by the burned landscape and downed trees from the 2015 fire. I was disappointed that the ranger-led hikes and talks ended before I arrived in mid September. Still Cedar Grove, the campsites, and the Kings River are the places I've returned to again and again due to the beauty and quiet of the canyon.

We loved it! It was my husband and 3 year old son’s first time camping. We had so much fun we didn’t want to leave. It was so nice how much space there was, it was so quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views and the bathrooms were remarkably clean, constantly. The river, visitor center and Cedar Grove market are all within walking distance. Great site and we’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful National Park. Great camp spaces, nicely spread out. You can hear the river at night and enjoy camping in the trees at most sites. Roads End for hikes just a short drive away.

Great campground. Lots of shade, soft flat ground, and trees. Absolutely no cell service but there is a pay phone if needed for emergencies. Small market also nearby. There are no paths in between the individual sites however so you will find many other campers cutting through your site to access things like the bathroom.

Excellent campground though a little congested in the middle of the campground area. Ideally try to get a spot on the perimeter. Do you not worry about getting close to the road because there is very little traffic anyway, especially at night when you're sleeping.
