What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

It was right in the middle of everything - we could walk to all the trail heads we wanted to hike. There was a commotion one night when someone tried to "first-come-first-serve" squat on the site next to us, and then the real reservation owners showed up. The squaters did not want to move and the ranger had to come resolve the issue. But all became harmonious after that was resolved.

I had such a wonderful time at Kings Canyon. It was so much better than the more crowded Yosemite and Sequoia. The place was small enough to explore without getting lost. I would love to return again this summer.

We loved our last-week-of-August 2019 stay. Rushing Kings' River.
Few campers. Perfect in so many ways. This campground is far
back in the canyon, yet near a store and showers. Glad we found it.

PS: We found great joy in no phone service and no daily newspapers. The world went on without us just fine. Better yet, we got along even better.

I love camping here, it is dog friendly, kid friendly, and well kept, and clean. They keep it very woodsy, but that's what you want. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Campsites are large enough to spread out, the streams that run by and sometimes through campsites are fun and give you a more out of the city feel. You are within walking or short driving distances from numerous trails, for hiking and backpacking.
