What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Very good location just a minute inside the park going through Big Stump Gate. Sunset was very nice to see if you are in one of the higher spots. Bear boxes were large enough to put a 22" blackstone, two average sized ice chests, and two storage totes (about the size of ice chests). The campground stayed pretty full while we were there and there was no issues with people being loud or bothersome. I would definitely camp here again, perfect spot to set up camp and see both Kings Canyon and the Sequoias!

This campsite was really nice it had good shade when the evening. I have AT&T and my signal would come and go. The view over seeing the valley at night was amazing as well as watching the sunset towards the end of the day was always nice to see. I had an area to put my hammock set up my tent close to the camp fire and my canopy was behind my car. Restrooms are not even a 1 min walk from the campsite and were well maintained.

Our campsite 074 was on the steepest hill ever, got no refund or could change the spot. Forgot my fishing rods there, no one was reachable over the phone or email ever. No one ever replied or could help me out afterwards

We had one day toward the east, one day toward the south, one day around the immediate area. We may come back. My wife and I hiked Moro Rock even though we were over 70. The food pricing was reasonable. I liked the giant forest in Sequoia. We also hiked down to see General Sherman but we took the tram back to the parking lot.

Wonderful campground! We have stayed here twice now and love everything about it! The general store and visitors center is super close, the restrooms are really clean, and the campsites are spacious.

Site 065 has a shared driveway and is well shaded. It is extremely close to the adjacent campsite without and natural barriers to separate the two. Great site if you want to book both sites for a group, but I recommend a different site if you want any privacy.

Beautiful campground with lots of old growth trees. Basically across the street from the visitor center. Gorgeous views if you can get the sites farthest from the entrance!!
