What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Horrendous camping experience here. This campsite is downwind of two other campsites situated at slightly higher elevations. The campers at both of those sites had camp fires and one site used some type of pre-treated wood or chemical to enable wood to burn longer. But the fumes from their camp fires were blowing into my tent and overwhelming. I was gagging and choking in my tent and had to remove the rain fly (loss of privacy) in order to get rid of the smoke and fumes and it still triggered an asthma attack. A warning should be placed at this campsite that it is downwind of adjacent campsites and will be innundated with smoke and camp fires fumes, which will be a breathing hazard for more sensitive people. This was the worst experience I've ever had camping at a national park.

Odd shaped lot. Parking spot is narrow and short even for sedans. Very close to neighboring site. Pros: close to bathroom Cons: close to bathroom. People constantly coming and flushing toilets. Bathroom isnt lit at night and no sink for wastewater. Campsite is close to Grant Grove visitor center which has wifi
