A number of hiking trails begin within walking distance of the campground including the one mile trail to the General Grant Tree.

The setting is fantastic. Great location and relatively easy to get to. However, upkeep can be improved. The bathrooms were messy and the trash bins were overfilled.

Location is great for exploring Grant Grove and we drove out to the other major sites in Kings Canyon. The visitor center is really nice and the bathrooms nearby were helpful.

I think this was the best site at Sunset campground… many were tight spaces and this one was spacious.

The only thing that would make it better would be adding electric to lessen the generator noise. Would happily camp there again.

Tent site 56 does not have a a very flat space for a tent. You should have a small tent if you want to use 56. However, it is on top of the mountain so the sunset view from this site is BEAUTIFUL!

Wonderful views! Flat tent site, large bear box provided, plenty of water spigots, and bathrooms were convenient. A nearby shower facility would have been nice.
