National Park Service has lost all control of this campground. Camping at Sight 91 in July allowed for an awesome sunset but other people had no regard for other campers! Kids on scooters at 6:30 am to go to the restroom, as well as racing them down hills on both sides of the site, vehicles often exceeding 15 mph, vehicles being driven off-road in campsites, vehicles being parked in the dirt, too many people and excessive tents on many of the sites. The best part was NPS staff was virtually non-existent throughout my three-day stay. In years past we camped with family in Cedar Grove and the harassment from NPS was over the top, not it seems that anything goes at this location. Bring earplugs at a minimum! Needless to say, I will not be back at this location. I have been camping for 60+ years, this was by far the worst NPS experience.

Many parking spots are not level, so bring levelers if you have an RV to sleep in.

We really liked this Campground it was very convenient to everything and we especially loved the fact just 8 miles a way was Lake Hume. The Campground was also walking distance to a gift shop, market, and restaurant. It was very shady and so beautiful among the Sequoia trees.

Kings Canyon National Park is easily accessible from Fresno, California. Take HWY 180 East from Fresno, and proceed 55 miles to Kings Canyon National Park. Three miles east of the Big Stump Entrance Station you will find Sunset campground on your left.
