Sunset Campground (CA)

My site was very nice, though kind of close to all the others. Quiet at nite and most days although one day there was annoying music playing until quiet hour. Why come to nature to blare your music?? Just stay home and blare your annoying music for hours. Also the bathrooms were filthy beyond Mexico standards.

The site itself was good. There was a telephone phone in the middle of it.
The bathroom closes to it only had two bathrooms. No one ever came to clean them! The whole time we were there.
We also couldn’t use the water unless we boiled it. There was no notification on the website about this issue which made our experience worse. I would have brought more water for our group and made other arrangements but we really struggled.

We absolutely loved the location!, close to the visitor center and other attractions. Reason we gave it a 4 was because the campsites are so close to eachother, apart from that everything else was great. We have Spectrum and our service was fine. The sunset view was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. We stayed on Site 68 , 32ft trailer and it fit perfectly and our truck parked horizontal to the rv still on our site.

We really enjoy this Campground, always clean and well maintained. Convenient location to many of the surrounding attractions.

Nice campground with the location being central for access to explore both Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Restrooms are serviced and reasonably clean, but like most campgrounds, they don't ever do deep clean scrubbing so there is grime in the corners. My big complaint is that the sites are too packed in. Our site 66 looked like a group campground, with a shared parking pad and overlapping tent/table areas. We ended up reserving 67 too just too assure that we had extra space. There is so much extra land up there... I don't understand why they insist on packing the campgrounds in so tightly.

Great location in the park. You can walk to the visitor center for a few supplies, hike to Grant Grove and waterfalls. Clean sites, bathrooms are maintained, no showers, so be prepared. Other reviews mention cell signal, but don’t count on it. There is wifi at the visitor center.

Site 20 has good morning and evening shade. It was level but not paved. We had a 24 foot Motorhome. Watch out for the sugar pine cones. Quiet and close to the commode.

No complaints. Always go to campsite #60 and always have a blast.

For a single night stay, the Sunset Campgrounds satisfied all of my needs in a campground. The campsite itself was nice, with a nearby dumpster/recycle/ash dump nearby. The views in some nearby empty edge camps were really nice. After I set up my camp, I hiked out to General Grant Tree, which was the perfect amount of camping before heading back to enjoy the night. The nearby store had a lot of products, from food to firewood to small campsite necessities.

The main issues was the dirtiness of the bathroom in the bathroom closest to me, and the lack of a ranger/campground attendant. I understand the national park services had taken a hit to its budget through the current administration, but that’s what would have brought this up to a 5 star visit
