What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

We enjoyed our stay, I booked 2 sites because the other reviews said the campsites were small and I'm glad we did. We had sites 143 and 144 with a tent. There were no other sites directly behind us (wooded area) or on one side of us because of a giant rock between the sites. The campground was dry so lots of dirt everywhere, no grass at the sites. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table and bear box. It is also very close to the visitor center and store. Also a short drive to Hume lake where the kids went swimming.

The campground was perfectly located between the two national parks. There was a store a few minutes away if you needed anything (ice, firewood etc) The sunset views were amazing! We will definitely be back.

A beautiful campground. A great location to get to all the hot spots to hike and view. Lakes and rivers, and plenty of trees! It was a clean campground. The sites are VERY close together. But the bathrooms and water were well placed so no one had to go far.

(19) was more private than most, as only one night did someone camp next to us. It was on a slope, which would be hard to navigate for folks with ability needs. It was also quite worn (lack of vegetation).

Campsite was wonderful in the shade. Nice tent pad. We were in a PopUp camper and had to keep our fires to a minimum. Lose to the bathroom. We left a bear box flashlight button so you can see you stuff at night. Great view of the sunset.
Unfortunately, the set of families near us allowed their children to run screaming through everyone’s campsites, from 5:45AM thru 11PM. We just choose activities outside of camp during the day.

Had a great stay! Sites are very close together but every one was very respectful of each others space. Looking forward to returning.
