Great site. Mosquitos! Make sure all food is done and in bear boxes by dark. There was a black bear that was not afraid of anything going site to site, like he was at a grocery store.

We stayed twice on week nights in May and it was very quiet (can't vouch for weekends). It is a smallish campground with ample water spigots and clean, lighted bathrooms at the center of the loop for easy access. We stayed in sites 11 and 4 and both had lovely views. The sites are well graded and surfaced with gravel to keep the dirt and dust down. There are nice lantern-hanging poles at each site. The drive to Lake Tahoe is convenient and Truckee is quite close. There is an airport nearby, but planes were small, relatively infrequent, and didn't seem to fly at night. Martis Creek Lake is adjacent to the campground for some quiet, uncrowded lake time. We'll be back!

Great location - close to highway access but not so close as to feel like you're on the side of the road. The sites are spacious with lots of wildlife, plants and trees. Just a short walk to a nice wildlife recreations area. We were very happy with the stay and would return.

Very nice, quiet park. Large spaces, roomy sites - neighbors far away. We have been here several times and will continue to come.

This once very well kept campground has been in decline over the last few years. The relatively new campground hosts do little to nothing to ensure campers find a clean/prepped camp, they no longer rake the dead pine needles away from the fire pit, nor do they even check to see if the bear boxes have anything in them from the previous campers. On one stay I found a full bag of trash in our bear box when we arrived for one of our 3 stays here this summer. I took it to the trash.

On another stay this season the urinal in the men's bathroom was completely backed up with urine the entire time we were there. I took a picture of the condition but NEVER saw the campground hosts to point it out to them nor should anyone have to..

We arrived on another stay a day late but early in the morning on the second day of our reservation only to find our site was occupied. Seems the campground hosts had not put up our occupied tag for the day of our arrival/length of stay. So, the couple just took our spot. The woman in our campsite assured me she'd looked on Rec.gov and the site was available. I showed her my printed reservation that clearly showed that the night they stayed there was already reserved and paid for by us. She just shrugged her shoulders. Had our tag been put on the site like it should have been, this wouldn't have happened.

The campground now requires you to arrived no earlier than 2pm and depart no later than noon. We had been using this campground for years/decades when this requirement was enacted. When we questioned why, we were told it was "to give the campground hosts time to clean and prep the campsites." Well then, clean and prep the campsites.

It would be easy to blame the relatively new campground hosts but the Corps of Engineers are letting it happen. They have a facility sitting adjacent the campground. They drive thru the campground. They should be the ones letting the hosts know they are not doing their job...

We liked campsite 6. There’s enough distance between the other campsites and it’s close enough were your car is accessible. It’s also close to the restroom.

Excellent location. Various types of sites. Wish they weren’t in shade so much. Plan on returning.
