What Guests Are Saying
Boca Campground offers stunning views, spacious sites, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great choice for camping. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness, beautiful scenery, and the helpful camp host. However, some challenges include a lack of water access, steep paths to the lake, and occasional noise from nearby campers. Overall, it remains a favored location for its scenic beauty and convenient proximity to Reno.

The site itself is beautiful, with a perfect view of Boca Reservoir. The dirt path down to the lake is a bit steep and slippery, but we went down it a couple times during our stay. The big problem was that we were situated right between two very noisy campsites this trip, and there was no camp host presence, nor any ranger presence until we saw one when we were leaving. One site had at least four vehicles and around 10, perhaps more, people, and it was not a group campsite. They fought a lot and stayed up into early hours of the morning partying. The other side also stayed up into the early hours of the morning, but added music to the symphony of noise. Needless to say, our visit was not peaceful, but the scenery is spectacular. Boca has been a long time favorite of ours.

It turned chilly and rainy and we had the campground almost to ourselves on this later in the year trip. We really enjoyed that and the view of the lake from this site is exceptional. However, I precariously slid my way down a steep incline to the lake but almost couldn’t make it back up, so access to the water from this site is almost nil unless you’re a mountain goat.

after unpacking our trailor the campground host arrived and informed us that we were at the wrong campground. he was kind to let us stay and said he would inform the campground host at the location we should have been. we were just there one night, but plan on returning. thank you

No water is available. However, fees are the same as campsites that provide water.
Very dusty and sites are alongs the unpaved access roads. Traffic passing by frequently leave campsites and equipment in a fog of fine dust.
Numerous campers running very large and loud generators at all hours of the day and night.

We love the CG and views! We do not like the dirt and dust - if RecGov could just gravel the main driveway on lower loop it would be ideal! We also didn’t like that the camp host wanted to see our drivers licenses and then put on a piece of paper for potential identity theft. Thank you

Gerry the manager @ this campsite is a very warm host. He will try to work things out if there is a conflict. The campsites are nice also. There is no water, but that is not an issue. There are plenty of places to get to the water area for recreation. Boca Recreation Area will always be on my list of places to check out!

The spot had stunning views of the reservoir and a large level spot for camping materials! The bear box was bigger than expected and the camp host was very sweet. It’s a little hard to get to bathrooms without walking through the adjacent spot (if it is also booked), but absolutely possible.
