What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

My son and I pitched our tent and camped overnight. We arrived after dark, so it took a little extra time to be sure we were parked and set up in our assigned walk-in spot. Though we were on one of the highway-adjacent sites, we didn't find road noise to be a problem. A good place to stay while fishing on the Truckee.

This is the best of the three campgrounds in this area for river access. The water is rusty, but otherwise it is great.

{"text"=>"Bring earplugs if tent camping!\n\nOnly reason for two stars instead of one was because my site #34 had a nice little spot where people had cleared out the rocks in the river which made a great place to relax in the water after my bike rides!\n\nI knew it was next to the road, but the traffic doesn’t die down until after 10pm and starts up again around 5am. It’s also inconsistent so it’s not a “white noise” that can lull you to sleep.\n\nSpots are close together and of the five near me only two have good spots for tents. Spots 32 & 33 should really only be one based on size, but since there are two tables and two food boxes, they count it as two.\n\nLots of wildlife here though! I’ve seen a mink, river otters, a snake, plenty of chipmunks and even had a bear checking out my water bottles at 4:45am!\n\nLocation was convenient because there are lots of mtb trails nearby and some even within a short ride up the road, but unless you have a trailer, I can’t recommend tent camping here.", "languageCode"=>"en"}
