Perfectly great for the price. 1 disappointment: too much traffic noise. but, it did die down late at night until morning. Second disappointment: i'd expect walk-in sites to have a bit more privacy. Third disappointment: trash dumpsters were overstuffed. It was totally beautiful, you could hear the river at night when traffic died down, easy river access, flat tent site, easy path from car, clean restroom, overall good experience.

Beautiful, beautiful campground. Located along the Truckee River makes for and incredible view and sense of peace. Bathrooms are clean and always stocked. Less than a mile away is a Save Mart, Pizzeria, Sushi, and gas station. Even a laundromat for long stays.
Too bad it's so close to CA 89, which can be heard from every campsite.

Campsite was clean. Views of the Truckee River from my campsite were amazing. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, well stocked and easy to access

#8 is a beautiful river front spot. Be prepared for road noise at the campground

Clean bathrooms. Our site was incredible. A lot of highway noise but it had such a pretty view of the river. Sometimes if my phone worked really hard, we had connections.

We love staying at this campground right on the Truckee River. Its one of our favorites because of the proximity to all the hiking trails and Tahoe/Donner area.

Site next to busy loud road, all night traffic. Horrible.

We had a walk-in campsite at the Granite Flat Campground. The site, equipped with a table and a bear box, is more or less what we expected. Potable water and toilets were nearby. What marred the experience was the proximity to Highway 89. To screen off the sound of vehicles at night, I had to wear a pair of earplugs.

- Store all food in approved containers to avoid attracting bears.
Vehicles & parking
- Off-highway vehicles must be trailered and cannot be ridden in the campground.
- One vehicle is included with a single site; additional vehicles cost $10 each per night.

Fires & fuel
- Be aware that fire restrictions can change due to weather; check with the ranger district for current conditions.
- Buy firewood locally and burn it on-site to prevent pests.
- Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host, but availability may vary.
Pets
- A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed per site, and they must be leashed or confined at all times.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 6 people are allowed per single site and 12 people per double site.
