The place is beautiful, it great if you just want to get away, you can fish, you are close to town if you need to run in for something. We ride side by side and were able to ride out of camp. We will definitely be back.

Chipmunk plague didn't help.
Good:
- The lake is nice, water is clean and good temperature.
- Eagles and Osprey are visible and active
Bad:
- No shade - flat, treeless camp site.
- Lots of ATVs - loud machines, loud people that come along with loud machines
- Not the place to go if you want to enjoy nature

We were here during the weekday during the summer. The campground is close to town, but still feels far away. Very basic amenities, but the campground host was friendly, as was the forest service ranger we encountered. Picnic tables and campfire rings in good condition. Firewood available from the campground host. Other campers also followed the campground rules for the most part. The lake level is fairly low, so it was a bit of a walk to put our SUPs and kayaks in the water. There seemed to be pretty good fishing, and no speed boats on the lake. Very pleasant.

Had a great time as usual at Lakeside! The only negative this trip was the number of bees there were. Hadn't encountered that previously at Lakeside. Other than the bees, the site was clean, accessible, and we had a great time!
