The campground sites are large and level. The camp host was friendly and helpful. The only negative piece to our stay was the group that stayed across from us. Early in the morning, they launched two hot air balloons directly over the campground. It was extremely loud and disruptive; not a quiet, peaceful morning.

Excellent time mid-week. Perfect weather and a lot more water in the reservoir than last year. No drinkable water in the campground so bring your own!

The campground was quiet and sites are widely spaced. The camphost does a great job, the bathrooms are very clean. There is no water, which is a failing of the Truckee ranger district. The system is capable of being repaired.
Agencies are managing campgrounds for their convenience, not to serve the visitor. Everyone should be complaining to agencies about sites sitting empty when people are a no show as well as asking for more first come first serve camping again.

Such a beautiful place to camp, despite the fact that you were not allowed to have camp fires in "enclosed fire rings", which makes no sense, and the lack of water can be a challenge for some to stay at this campground. Are campers really consuming large volumes of water during their stay?

Our trip to Prosser Family Campground was great. One thing you should know is that most of the campsites are configured so that when you back into the parking spot the door of your camper will be on the right and the table and enjoyment area of the campsite is on the left. That was difficult. We did not use our awning due to this fact. The bathrooms were clean. There was no water available when we were there. There is no electric either. The garbage dumpsters, only 2 in the park are near the front and one near the end of the park. So if you are in the middle (11) you have to walk a bit to get to either one. We hiked down to the lake and played in the water with the dogs. There were people fishing. The water is very low right now (July 2021). We took a drive over to Bocca lake as well. Water sports are huge over there. There is a Grocery Outlet in town. No dollar stores close enough. No place in town where we could fill up our 5 gallon water jug. Fire wood is on a ban right now due to high fire danger. We had a great time and would love to go back.
