Great spot, some road noise but expected and not a problem.

Clean campground, friendly camp host. The negative is road noise from Highway 89 although the walk in tent sites by the river are very nice. Easy fishing access but I did not catch any trout. River bike trail is wonderful as well as hiking Shirley Canyon in Squaw Valley. A few mosquitoes but manageable.

The water was not drinkable. The sign said we had to boil it for 5 mins for it to be safe. Even after boiling it left a sediment in the bottom of the pot.
Also the spaces were not easy to pull in and get out of and it was very close to the main highway.
Also there was only one water spout for 8 campsites.

Great location by the Truckee River and Squaw Valley (I went skiing over July 4th and stayed at Silver Creek then). There is an outhouse toilet but that is about all there is there in terms of amenities (no running water or electricity is my recollection). So as long as you are prepared for that, it shouldn't be an issue.
