What Guests Are Saying
Acorn Campground offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful scenery, ample wildlife, and spacious sites ideal for family gatherings. Many reviewers appreciated the cleanliness of the grounds and active ranger presence, though some noted that the bathrooms require more frequent maintenance. While there are complaints about noise and certain site conditions, overall, campers enjoyed their experiences and expressed a desire to return.

The campsite area was nice, with decent tree coverage, and close to the bathrooms. BUT the bathrooms are SO dirty. I didn't expect hotel-style bathrooms, it's normal to have tons of bugs but the shower????? trash everywhere, and the water was scalding hot. That may not have a fix since the weather was also super hot and it may have been the pipes but it sucked. The area we were in that had access to the lake was ok, but the water smelled terrible so I would definitely pick a campsite further out.

I was originally assigned to site 43. That site is a terrible site. It is off level side to side by 7.5 inches. I did not have enough leveling blocks to raise my trailer that much. After 3 hours of working on it, I finally got it to within an inch, but it was still unlevel. I stayed one night and then worked with Dustin the next day to move to a different site. Unfortunately, trying to get my trailer out of the spot, a high tree trunk rubbed on my awning and put holes in it. I could see that some of the marks were from others that likely did the same thing. The staff was very helpful, but overall a bad experience because of the condition of that site. This was my third trip this year to Acorn and I enjoyed both other trips in different sites.

Beautiful hills, water is clean. Showers where broken, the ones that did work had low water flow. Facilities run down. Lake water was very low, very few campsites are actually on the lake.

Not crowded during the week and nice view and sunrise on the lake at space 108. They have been trimming trees and left branches in piles for free firewood.

Nice view of the lake from camp site. Not to busy during the week and nice to have a dump station for the RV. Not too hot on the days I was there.

We popped a tire going out of the camping area. We were going the correct way. We were offered 4 days compensation.

I have been camping here for 40 years. The campground seems to be deteriorating, especially the bathrooms. There are no more camp hosts. Mo one to check us in. We did see Park Rangers often and they were nice and helpful. But it seems like budget cuts are taking their toll on the campground.

We have been camping there for 30 years this year the bathrooms were disgusting and the site was dirty too. Not much patrolling by ranger’s. Very concerned with the condition’s! They need to have the camp hosts back or actually clean the place up.

Camp site was slanted and awning went into road. Camp ground needs to be updated, it’s advertised as no electric no water and it accurate.

We have always enjoyed this campground. It is the one we go to every year. It is affordable and easy to get to. The lake is wonderful even at its lowest levels. It has good boat ramps. The bathrooms are fairly clean and maintained. There are enough locations with in the campground that you don't have to walk miles to get to them.
