It is a very busy campground. So, what do you expect. People were playing music, some dudes were drinking and yelling until super late... Par for the course in a huge and popular area. BUT, the sites, were super clean, restrooms were fine, water is an available and you are super close to the gas station and shop. That is a huge PLUS! You go to Yosemite, expect crowds and go with the flow.

Site is narrow but long. Our 18ft trailer just fit to make the swing into the site due to wooden posts lining the road. Not much room on the camp side and a large tree stump that we had to navigate for our outdoor kitchen. Also slants toward the campsite, so leveling blocks are a must. However, it was a great site. Some shade, but plenty of sun for solar. Room for our screen room, not too buggy, a deer came through a couple of times during the trip. Plenty of squirrels and the opportunity to see a few bats hunting at dusk. Close to gas and a small store with a few essentials. Warm during the day, but high enough elevation for very pleasant evenings around the campfire. Rangers and the hosts were present and helpful - they are strict about bear mitigation, but easy enough to follow. Good location to access the valley without all of the chaos.

The campground was clean overall and very accessible. It was easy to get set up and go do my business. The campsite was also very clear and ready for me to arrive. Overall it was a great experience.

A decent location with good amounts of shade, but horrible parking space. I only had space to park my truck, barely any other space to park. Unlike other spots in the same campground. Restroom utility sink weren't too far. Most of the space around the campsite is on the slanted hillside so very difficult to place anything else. Also, only one toilet was working for the restroom closest to us, and the other restroom building seemed better, cleaned and updated more. Recently. The campground was nice and located right by the river for easy access, but the spot had very limited space which made it feel inconvenient. I would certainly pick a better campsite next time, but the shade offered by trees at this site was nice.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Crane Flat Campground is located 8 miles from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Hwy 120 from the west), and is 17 miles (30 minutes) northwest of Yosemite Valley.
Crane Flat Campground is accessible via Highway 120, which is 8 miles from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station to Yosemite National Park.

Policies & Rules
General
- You are responsible for reading the site alerts and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment. The campground has had a complete overhaul and every site has changed.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 379-2123; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bring proof of your reservation (screen shot or paper version). There is no internet access, cell service or public phone at Crane Flat.You must sign in at the entrance of the campground or you will be considered a no show and your reservation cancelled.Make your site look occupied--leave a chair or other equipment so we know you've arrived.
- Bears and wildlife live here! Food, scented items and toiletries must be stored 24 hours/day. Absolutely NO food stored in vehicles!Food lockers are provided in all campsites and measure 35 inches deep x 43 inches wide x 28 inches high.Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters or in your locker. Do NOT hang garbage bags in your site!
- No electric, water, or sewer hookups are available at this facility, however, a dump station is located in Yosemite Valley, as are showers.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited.
- There is no electricity and therefore, no lights in this campground. Bring a light source!

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
