First night was wonderful, second night I almost couldn't sleep because the loudest generator I've ever heard ran all night

Beautiful campground away from the mania of the valley. Surrounded by serene and beautiful pines, each plot has plenty of space to make your own along with a fire pit (with ample wood around the camp). Hike In is more like a 10 second stroll so don’t let that put you off.

The campsite was nice and big. It's on a slope, so remember that you will roll to one corner at night. The walk from the park to the campsite is nothing, so you don't have to worry about the hike in the description. It is close to the restroom and has a grill, table, and firepit—roughly 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley Center.

The site was not bad, bigger than all the sites next to it. Yes it is steep but there is a flat area for at least 2 larger tents or 3 small single tents. The bench is leveled off. Parking area is next to it. The bathrooms were OK, flush and mostly not smelly at all because the doors and windows are open 24/7. There is a Grey water toilet dump on the side of the bathroom building along with a spigot over a toilet to drink from. I saw 2 bathroom buildings, don't know if there were more. They are a bit hidden in the center of the campgrounds. Not the best tasting water but it's available. Really smelly when the poop truck comes and get the waste. This camp was far enough from the bathroom to not smell, great choice for that aspect. There WILL be a bear coming at least once in the night looking for food if you stay longer than 3+ days. I heard the bear breathing at night but it's paws must have been really quiet walking around. It did not come again after the first night. I walked along the downed logs at the site towards the forest and saw PLENTY of wrappers and tin foil trail right behind this campsite only. It must have had a good meal here in the past and comes back often. Overall it's not bad if you're not afraid of black bears. There were a lot of no shows near us and along the Campground, a lot of people actually want to camp here and it's always booked full in the summer. These people who don't show up or cancel should be banned 1+ year, use their name and credit card to ban them. That is the worst part about reserving, NO SHOWS. Great for sleep though, quiet.

Right by the Western entrance of Yosemite NP, just past the ranger station. It's about a 40 minute drive to the center of the valley where amenities and popular trailheads are located. An OK location, there are other campsites that are even farther from the valley so we felt pretty lucky to be less than an hour away.
We got a great campsite next to the bathrooms that was very flat and large, great for a group of 6 with multiple tents. Some of the other sites we drove past in Hogdon Meadow were slanted - for those it would be hard to find a place to pitch a tent. There were lovely trees and a generally good vibe at the campground. Bathrooms were OK - flush toilets but very "rustic" ;) and there is no dishwashing area, just a giant mega-toilet that you can dump your graywater into and flush. There was a potable water spigot right above it. NO SHOWERS! This is a good campsite for those who don't mind being a little dirty.
It seemed to me that about 1/3 of the sites were unoccupied during our stay, but every single campsite was booked on recreation.gov, so there are sadly lots of no-shows. I hope Yosemite has a system for giving away sites that are unoccupied on the first night of their reservation.

Sites were very close to each other. There was a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, and our own bear box. Rangers at checkin were friendly. The campground is about 40 minutes from the valley. There was no cell service (AT&T) which was to be expected. Overall, it's a nice campground.
