Right by the Western entrance of Yosemite NP, just past the ranger station. It's about a 40 minute drive to the center of the valley where amenities and popular trailheads are located. An OK location, there are other campsites that are even farther from the valley so we felt pretty lucky to be less than an hour away.
We got a great campsite next to the bathrooms that was very flat and large, great for a group of 6 with multiple tents. Some of the other sites we drove past in Hogdon Meadow were slanted - for those it would be hard to find a place to pitch a tent. There were lovely trees and a generally good vibe at the campground. Bathrooms were OK - flush toilets but very "rustic" ;) and there is no dishwashing area, just a giant mega-toilet that you can dump your graywater into and flush. There was a potable water spigot right above it. NO SHOWERS! This is a good campsite for those who don't mind being a little dirty.
It seemed to me that about 1/3 of the sites were unoccupied during our stay, but every single campsite was booked on recreation.gov, so there are sadly lots of no-shows. I hope Yosemite has a system for giving away sites that are unoccupied on the first night of their reservation.

Sites were very close to each other. There was a fire ring, 2 picnic tables, and our own bear box. Rangers at checkin were friendly. The campground is about 40 minutes from the valley. There was no cell service (AT&T) which was to be expected. Overall, it's a nice campground.

Overall good experience. Quiet/friendly neighbors, no complaints. Pretty much as expected from NPS campground. Very short walk to facilities, which seemed well maintained.

Very nice campsite - removing all the food/smelly stuff from the car was tough, especially since we were on a big cross-country road trip, but we managed it and enjoyed our night in beautiful Yosemite.

Super easy to access the site. No one in any of the closer sites, so very quiet for me. Have camped at Hodgdon twice before and level sites is a not the norm, this one was!! Very cozy, so 1 or 2 people for #73 is perfect.

A bit detached from the valley but very nice spot. We would book it again.

The campground was ok, individual space was large enough but close to neighboring location. Not so many restrooms and very unclean during the week-end. It was much better, during the week. Nice atmosphere in the evening at the fire places.
The park is large so for sure, there are long driving distances from one area of interest to the other.

This was the only place I could get a site without booking far in advanced. Everyone was very nice. Seemed to be well maintained and clean. The sites are close together so if you're looking for privacy this campground may not be for you. It was super quite, especially during the day. The only real drawback is it's about 45 minutes to get to Yosemite Valley. The upside is you may possible be able to get a site on shirt notice or not have to book many months ahead. The drive to the valley isn't that bad and scenic enough to make it a pleasurable drive. Overall a good experience and would stay there again.
