What Guests Are Saying
Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a clean, well-maintained facility with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Yosemite. Many campers appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and the cleanliness of the restrooms. However, some sites are sloped and close together, which might impact comfort and privacy for certain visitors. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot for campers looking to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite.

Hodgdon's biggest downside is being about 45 minutes drive from the Yosemite loop sites. However, there are often sites available even after all other campgrounds are booked. Campsite 2 is a short walk downhill from the parking spaces. The walk was a little annoying, but offers much quieter, darker camping farther from other campers and much less smoke from the campfires in the center of the campground. There is supposed to be space for 2 cars per site but in the sites 1 and 2 parking, it's hard to imagine fitting more than 3 cars and even for that, you'd have to be coordinated to leave adequate space. The tent areas in the campsite were flat enough. Beware that there are campsites in this campground that look very unpleasant in terms of lacking both adequate flat areas and/or being very on top of neighboring campsites. Be thoughtful in your selection and you will have a nice time here.

May be away from the Valley but beautiful nonetheless! What a great first time camping in Yosemite that I had! Would definitely stay here again!

The campground was very nice, peaceful and clean. Not difficult to find our campsite and the staff was very friendly. The restrooms were also very clean and there’s water to wash dishes, rinse veggies, etc. This campground is convenient as it sits about 35-40 mins away from Yosemite Valley. I loved camping here and will definitely come back.

Parking for the walk in campsite I reserved was nonexistent. Too many cars parked in the spot I was supposed to be in. Had to park far away. It is a small Campground and the sites were mostly not very flat. If you need to be inside Yosemite boundaries this is your campsite. Otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

We had reserved space 11 to park our camper van. When we arrived at the campground that space had a large pile of ice and dirt plowed in front of it. There was no one at the campground who could assist. We ended up finding another place to stay outside of the park.

Be prepared that there are no shops close by and that it is still 16 miles to the Valley. It is a great place on your way to the Valley with great views on the way down. The campground itself is a straightforward forest campground, secluded, quiet. Nice hike possible to the giant Sequois

It was fun to camp in the snow at Hogdon Meadow. As it was before the season, only one bathroom was open. It was challenging to find a pathway to the bathroom that didn't cut through someone's campsite. But the site was peaceful and remote. It was great to camp at Yosemite in February!
