The facilities were clean and well maintained. The sites are spacious. Site 50 specifically was long enough and wide enough to fit my 40’ diesel pusher and towed Jeep with no issues. A bonus was a direct and gorgeous view of half dome. The camp hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They not only had wonderful recommendations for things to do, but they even helped us take care of an issue we experienced with our generator. There is a lot to do within close proximity. We hiked, cycled, rafted, shopped, dined, and more without the use of a car. We could’ve taken the shuttle to expand our reach as the pick up location was just outside the campground entrance, but we never felt the need to. We highly recommend Lower Pines campground!

Beautiful area! Campsite has the river in the back and is quite private. The view of Half Dome from this site is stunning! I was able to leave my car and walk to hikes. I totally enjoyed my stay here.

Campsite had no trees near by, gets a bit hot on thesunnier days, over all good camp space and we even had some reception. Super close to river and other surrounding hikes.

Although the actual experience was great, the system seems to be messed up. The campground was “sold out” on recreation.gov, but seemed to be less than 50% occupied in person. I’ve noticed that this is happening at most National park campgrounds that I have been to. Recreation.gov please find a fix for this. Maybe you need a human element of verification.

We stayed at both site 002 and 004 in Lower Pines, which are right next to each other. These sites are huge and beautiful - flat and wooded with room for many tents, tables, hammocks, bikes, etc.
