About North Pines Campground

For the 2026 season, North Pines campground will utilize a one-time Early Access Lottery which allows successful applicants to make a reservation within the entire 2026 season. Additional information may be found on Yosemite’s website.  Any remaining availability will be released during normal on-sale dates beginning with the February 15 on-sale.When not on a lottery, campsites at North Pines are available up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. (PT). For example, on February 15, arrival dates for the time period June 15 to July 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from season opening to July 14. North Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and so much more.Reservation tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes on the regular on-sale dates. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. Very idyllic spot along the river. And generally pretty quiet. But unfortunately enormous RVs are allowed to park right next to tents. It would be beneficial for everyone if there was a special RV section with easier to park in spots and that would also help to contain the noise from their generators. Also the bathrooms are in need of maintenance. Hand soap would be appreciated and sanitary for all campers!

Every day was beautiful at North Pines Campground. There are trails heading off in all directions and a shuttle stop nearby. Walk a short distance for great views of Half Dome, Glacier Point, the Merced River and Tenaya Cree, and Yosemite Falls. We hiked over 10 miles every day!

This is a great beautiful big spot by the river. Probably your neighbors will have RV's or maybe you have an RV. I camp in a tent and I don't enjoy the sound of generators when I am making and eating breakfast or dinner. So, I will look for spots in the future where a large RV is less likely as a neighbor. Also, if you have an RV I'm sure other people would also appreciate keeping the noise of a generator running to the minimum you can. The hosts were friendly and helpful. (Somehow though this is the first time that I felt like RV's were more welcome than tents.) I did find a view of Yosemite falls from the site by moving the picnic table. I'm glad for everyone who loves the beauty of Yosemite and comes to stay. The quiet is just an especially important part to me, and there was sometimes loud unpleasant noise for a long period of time.

Both volunteers and paid staff were great! They kept the campground clean and were very friendly. My only concern is the invasive weeds in the area. I hope that NPS can devote some staff to invasive species removal.

If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 372-8502; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.

You must check-in at the campground kiosk upon arrival. After-hours arrivals must sign-in and return to the kiosk to complete check-in the following morning or your reservation may be cancelled.

Bears and other wildlife live here! Food and toiletries must be properly stored 24 hours/day.Food storage lockers are provided in all campsites and measure 43 inches wide, 28 inches high and 35 inches deep.Absolutely no food stored in vehicles.Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.

There are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites, although a free dump station and drinking water are located nearby at Upper Pines.
