About North Pines Campground

For the 2026 season, North Pines campground will utilize a one-time Early Access Lottery which allows successful applicants to make a reservation within the entire 2026 season. Additional information may be found on Yosemite’s website.  Any remaining availability will be released during normal on-sale dates beginning with the February 15 on-sale.When not on a lottery, campsites at North Pines are available up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. (PT). For example, on February 15, arrival dates for the time period June 15 to July 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from season opening to July 14. North Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas and so much more.Reservation tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes on the regular on-sale dates. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The sites are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, making it a great spot for families and groups. Great place to be the first one on the trails. Downside is the showers are located 15 minutes away by foot, not ideal. Would come back anyway, but 10/10 location and very quiet.

A friend and I were lucky to have lovely campsites and perfect weather in North Pines campground. We spent the days hiking and enjoying all the sites in Yosemite Valley. There were a few issues with the campground, however. We carefully stored our foods in the bear-proof box and had no bear encounters, but a mouse got in my van twice in the middle of the night, evidently to shred up a piece of foil for nesting material. When we moved to our second campsite, the mouse didn't follow us! We did not enjoy using the terribly beat up bathrooms which have high water-use faucets and toilets and no soap or towel. There was also an annoying little dog in the adjacent campground that barked senselessly all day. Several people were there but nothing was done to quiet the dog. Otherwise we were happy campers!

Campground is next to beautiful trails around Mirror Lake and Yosemite Falls. It is quiet, except for the construction that I hope will be done before opening again in the spring. We were right next to the bathroom, but it wasn't noisy or bright, very convenient when you're in a campervan. All valley must sees are close by. Views are amazing. River was calm and enjoyable. I can't wait to go back. We did not try the showers in nearby camp.

General

  • You are responsible for reading the site alerts and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
  • If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 372-8502; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
  • You must check-in at the campground kiosk upon arrival. After-hours arrivals must sign-in and return to the kiosk to complete check-in the following morning or your reservation may be cancelled.
  • Bears and other wildlife live here! Food and toiletries must be properly stored 24 hours/day.Food storage lockers are provided in all campsites and measure 43 inches wide, 28 inches high and 35 inches deep.Absolutely no food stored in vehicles.Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
  • There are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites, although a free dump station and drinking water are located nearby at Upper Pines.
  • Road conditions can change at any time; before arrival, please call (209) 372-0200 for road and weather conditions inside Yosemite, and 1-800-427-ROAD for conditions outside the park.
  • For additional park information, call (209) 372-0200 or visit www.nps.gov/yose 
  • Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more. 
  • Help Yosemite be a Zero Landfill park! Leave excess packaging at home. Use refillable water bottles, food containers and travel mugs. Place all of your recyclable waste in designated recycling containers. For more information go to: https://www.nps.gov/yose/getinvolved/zlf.htm 
  • Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited.
