About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Camp hosts love the park and love their work. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, making sure campers don’t get bothered before the checkout time.
Everyone respected the quiet time and I had a wonderful time staying here.

Really nice campground. Check in was easy, staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing I wish that there was showers in the bathrooms. I feel like for Yosemite it should have showers in these campgrounds. But other then that, it’s beautiful and your surrounded by trees and all the boulders.

Campground is nicely run with close access to the mist trail. It's a shame that most of the camping area's are closed for at least 1/3 of the year (in general) and only 1/3 of Upper Pines is open due to staffing shortages.

It was a huge inconvenience for us but the campsite manager did get us another site and the people who overstayed were fined. Campsites are close together and just crowded overall. They are close to all the attractions so that's a plus. Overall, I prefer Wawona campground. It's further out but way nicer, quiter, and spacious.
