About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. The campground was very clean. People were so nice. Camp hosts were awesome! We just had such a great experience with other campers. Our first evening we had issues with people walking right through our campsite but held our peace. But other campers were so considerate and friendly. We will be returning to this campground.

Upper Pines Campground never disappoints. The setting is absolutely beautiful—waking up surrounded by Yosemite’s scenery is hard to beat. The campground is well maintained, peaceful, and perfectly located for exploring the park. If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 372-8502; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.

You must check-in at the campground kiosk upon arrival. After-hours arrivals must sign-in and return to the kiosk to complete check-in the following morning or your reservation may be cancelled.

Bears and other wildlife live here! Food and toiletries must be properly stored 24 hours/day.  Food storage lockers are provided in all campsites (35 inches deep x 43 inches wide x 28 inches high). Absolutely no food stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.

There are no electric, water or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites. A free dump station is located on-site along with potable water.
