This is a WINTER season review of the campground. Bathroom is warm and well cleaned. Many of the sites were flooded due to poor drainage and no snow removal. The fire rings had not been cleaned out so they did not have great airflow. Be prepared for generators running constantly during "allowed" hours. Outside of those windows the noise level is decently quiet. Shuttle bus is pretty close so easy to get around the valley floor on foot even in winter. Great views with some sun reaching through trees here and there.
Overall better for trailers than tents due to the drainage and noise levels from the trailer folk.

Good site, level pad side to side. 16ft travel trailer and full size truck fit no problem. Easy to pull past and back into. Lots of tree cover makes good shade, blocks all light for solar. Open space in the trees approx 50ft behind the site for allows for partially blocked Starlink signal.
The dumpster is right next to this site, so expect early morning and late night trash run sounds. Doesn't puddle during high rain events. I would grab this site again if available.

We camp in upper pines campground year after year and this will be our last year. Yosemite is happy to take our money for the camp site but they won’t invest in the upkeep of the campground. The roads are in shambles, the blacktop at each campsite is broken up and lifted by the roots and drainage in the campground is awful. Our campsite flooded along with many many others and I had to dig a canal for the water to drain out of the space. This is taxation without representation and we are fed up with it.

Overall experience here was great. The campground itself was well maintained, amenities available as listed, with extra comfort/convenience found in the heated bathrooms during winter. Rangers at check-in were very welcoming & available to campers. Also informative about current conditions & animal activity. Site itself is convenient (more or less a 5 min drive to visitor center), at the same time far enough from crowds to camp in silence. Service can be variable, but basic phone calls/text wasn’t an issue for us. Definitely would come back again!

The campsites are a bit cramped, but they offer some shade thanks to the many tall pine trees. The campground is mostly in pretty good shape and can accommodate most long RV and trailers. There's sufficient trash bins for disposals. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Great location, campsites are well maintained. It's a little difficult have no potable water at the campsite, but bathrooms aren't too far away from any of the sites.

Bathrooms were disgusting with half the plumbing fixtures broken. The streets are ridiculously potholed to the point of safety hazard while trying to navigate over ice. Unfortunately, this campground keeps getting worse and worse.
