About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. Great campground! Be advised: there is no soap in the bathrooms, which is disappointing. But the scenery is amazing and the bear lockers are plenty of space for storing your cooler and other items. We also appreciated the potable water and helpful staff when checking in

The most magical campsite! Being surrounded by the trees, looking up at the mountains; just the best. People were respectful, the volunteer who checked us in was so nice, and bathrooms were clean. What else can you ask for. Can’t wait to book again!

Site 5 is perfect for a vehicle and a tent. We loved the site. One might think being near the front is bad, but it was nothing but perfect. Quiet, no one behind us. Far enough from road. Bathroom is not close by. When booking in Yosemite, you take what you can get and there's really no bad location.

This particular campsite is spacious. Didn't feel cramp at all with other sites. We have easy access to the main road going into Curry camp for the shower. Only down side is people would walk through our camp to get to the main road.
Camp host is very nice and considerately. Toilet could be a bit cleaner. Trash bins are located at the fork so it was a bit of a walk. Considered this is the first time we camped in Yosemite. It was an awesome experience.
