Great campsite. It's on the edge of the campground, quiet and there's a small stream that passes by which is very soothing. Flat ground, bathroom with flushable toilets nearby but nice that it's not right next to it. I will say that the bathroom light stays on all night and I could see the light through my tent. Potable water at the campground. After hours check-in was easy. Super convenient to everything in Yosemite. I liked this campground the most compared to the North Pines and Camp 4 but each has their own vibes and all are great.

We love Yosemite in Autumn! Yes, it was chilly, but the tradeoff is having the place to ourselves. Yosemite Valley inspires us and nurtures our souls. Upper Pines campground, hosted by Darren and Christine in the kiosk, felt like home. :)

Rangers and camp hosts are great, but the fact that the camp hosts live in RVs means that they do not hear or notice people running their generators in the middle of the night. If you're tent camping in winter, you should expect to hear generator noise throughout the night. No soap in the bathroom is nasty- toilets shouldn't even exist without soap dispensers nearby. These things should be constructed together, with the expectation that the toilet will be used for activities which will result in the need for hand soap. Other than that, the bathrooms were pretty clean and were obviously being cleaned on a daily basis. These sites are tiny compared to other campgrounds in California but very spacious as compared to Oregon state parks. As compared to Camp 4 there are a lot less issues with people walking through your site or next to your tent, but way more babies crying and generator noise.

This is a beautiful campground with stunning views of El Capitan and Half Dome. On a clear night, the sky is absolutely breathtaking. On a full Moon it is surreal. This campground offers clean restrooms, drinking water fountain, and parking spots, and there are plenty of nearby trails that you can easily reach by shuttle.
