What Guests Are Saying
White Wolf Campground is praised for its beautiful location, spacious sites, and proximity to great hiking trails, including those leading to Cloud's Rest and Aspen Valley. While there were complaints about the lack of running water and restrooms, the portable toilets were well-maintained and clean. Many campers appreciated the quiet atmosphere and friendly fellow visitors, making it a favorite choice for future stays.

#23 is a large, spacious site and since it's on the outside of the loop, there's a bit more privacy.

A bit remote location, god or bad depending on what are your plans, we drove to Yosemite valley for most of our activities so it wasn't so close. But the location and the drive is scenic, and the nearby lakes are nice. Camp itself was alright with sites well spaced, the toilets and water taps were a bit far apart. Toilets were not very clean.

I was really happy being at higher elevation while staying at White Wolf in July, as the temperature was very comfortable and even quite chilly at night. Originally we were going to try and stay down in the valley but there were no spaces available for our stay. I'm thankful, as it was hot in the valley. We liked our campsite. It was tidy, had a picnic table, fire pit and a stack of firewood as well. We were site #2, so not too far of a walk to restrooms. There are no showers. There are restrooms with flushable toilets and sinks (no soap), an outdoor sink and then foot pump handwashing stations (with soap) outside a row of port-a-potties.Check-in was a little confusing. There was an outdoor tent setup to sign-in, etc but no one is actually there to answer questions. During our stay, multiple people who were checking in came over to our site to ask questions. For instance, one family's site ended up being next to a wasp's nest and the wife was allergic to wasp stings and they needed a different site. There were many questions about whether the outdoor sink was the source for potable water (no signs indicating). Just know there is zero cell service and no emergency phone on site in case of an actual emergency so you really are mostly on your own. There is a ranger who comes through each day, so you can stop the ranger and ask questions if you see him/her passing through.

It is a wonderful place to stay: neat and well organized. We were lucky to have a camping-spot because we reserved only two days in advance. Furthermore an ideal starting point to explore Yosemite from the inside. We can only say two nights is too short.

Great out of the way Yosemite campground, lots of shade! Stayed here the night before hiking Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne.

Wonderful site. It was ~45 minute drive from the valley but there was plenty of availability during peak summer months and the nighttime temps were MUCH more comfortable. Lows were in the 50s F during July even when the valley was nearly 100F during the day. Plenty of space, well maintained facilities, and quiet neighbors. Highly recommend!
