This was our first time at Southside Campground. It was a wonderful experience. We were across the main road from the lake but were able to access the lake to fish with minimal effort and We were able to ride our bikes. The whole park and campground was immaculate and the hosts were very friendly, took their jobs seriously and made sure we understood the possibility of the different wildlife in the area. We could not have asked for better hosts! We will be back for a day trip or to camp again.

Close to the lake, but really tight spacing. If a neighbor has a pop out the will be on top of your picnic table. That said - beautiful area and very nice hosts.

Getting There
From Pueblo, drive 25 mi south on Interstate 25 to exit 74. Go west 18 mi on state Highway 165. Turn into the main entrance at Lake Isabel Recreation Area. The campground is the first within the recreation area on the left.
