Very nicely maintained campground. Neighbors were very quiet and campground was not very crowded. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Camp host (Pete?) was awesome, available and very knowledgeable about the area.

Our campground host, “Pete” was terrific. We have been coming as a family to Cobbett for 70+years, at site 17 as our home base along with 4-6 other campsites. I myself have been coming for 57th years. Pete was great- clean restrooms, and just the right balance of supervision and privacy. We look forward to next year, and are hopeful that Pete will be there waiting for us. Thank you, Pete for all you do.

Great, quiet campground tucked between Cobbett Lake and the visitor center. Our family really enjoyed the site, and it was quiet and serene. Pete the camp host does a fantastic job keeping an eye on everything and making campers feel welcomed. He helped me fill the fresh tank, provided a leaflet with area hikes and kept the vault toilets super clean. Location is easy to get to everything on the Grand Mesa, including Island Lake, Ward Lake, Crag Crest Trail, Lands End and the visitor center. Cedaredge is only about 25 minutes away if you need to restock. Overall, great spot and will camp here again.

Bears visit at dusk when they go to the lake for fish and in the middle of the night. Do not keep food out on the picnic table when you're not cooking or eating. No big spreads.

This was the cleanest campground and bathrooms we've had. The host was very friendly and obviously has high standards. The setting is very pleasant, far enough from the highway as to minimize truck noise, and close enough to the visitor's center to easily get advice on hiking, as well as tapping into their wifi.

Overall, it was a great place to camp.

The campsite is small but mighty! Lovely big trees, lake nearby, and lots of walking trails. A dear strolled into our campsite one evening at dusk. The camp host PETE was wonderful! Not only full of campsite and local information, but a seriously nice man! We enjoyed shooting the breeze with him. If you get this message Pete, thanks for everything from Barb, Peter, Randy, and Cliff. We really enjoyed meeting you!
