Jumbo Campground

Lots of hiking, biking, fishing in the area. Something for everyone who loves the outdoors.

Very pretty and quiet. Clean. Good cell coverage if that matters to you. Convenient to hiking.

Our campspot was nice and flat, surrounded by trees and very close to the lakes and hiking trails. We plan on coming back soon.

Great week on the Grand Mesa. A little cold and wet towards the end, but that's why we go to the high country.

Love this campground, hosts are very helpful. Only concern are the very smelly restrooms.

Jumbo is definitely one of my favorite Colorado campgrounds. There's hiking available right there, or if you just need a short walk (paved) that's also right there in the Mesa Lakes Rec area (that's adjacent to Jumbo). The bathrooms in the campground were out of service, so port-a-potties were provided (not a favorite, but they were okay). I love that you can get a site with or without power hookups. Phone service is really sketchy - at least Verizon, but the lodge next door.has free Wi-Fi, so that makes it easy to keep in touch.

This was my second visit to Jumbo and looking forward to my next visit. They had portapotties set up as the bathrooms were closed. We took a hike up to one of the chair towers, a bit over 6 mi round trip. Loved the view and the lakes. We didn't fish this year, but you can.
