Jumbo Campground

Sweet campground with big spots that are private and your have a 30amp hookup!

We had a lovely time at Jumbo Campground, everything was clean and ready for us. The hummingbirds were excited to see our feeder and came in abundance, we had two going. There was a nice hanger for the feeder also used for lanterns I suppose. Too bad we couldn't have any fires but no worries, better to not start any wildfires due to the dryness. We hiked to Sunset Lake and Jumbo Reservoir which were beautiful. Our host warned us about a bear that had visited on the far side of Sunset Lake to make sure we kept our windows closed at night.

As a handicapped, disabled, and retired military person, I was told I would have a site with electric available. The space given was handicapped, but without electric hook up I needed for my concentrator. The space next to my assigned space was not handicapped, but with electric hookup so they traded with me, as they did not need the electric.

Ken, the camp host and Bridgett the substitute were so helpful, friendly and accomodating.
The only complaint was the sani cans that needed emptying after a full campground on the weekend. By Monday they were ripe and by Tuesday they were unbearable!..Maybe schedule a Monday dump.

The host, Ken, was super helpful. Such a beautiful location that we look forward to every year.

We loved this campground! We only stayed one night in mid-August, but the weather was really nice, just a little warm in the day, but cool enough at night, no need for sleeping in socks :) No showers, but bathrooms were clean, and water spigots nearby. There were lots of lovely little ponds nearby to explore, but the bugs were really not bad at all (I was nervous due to some reviews, but it was not an issue). No fires allowed but the weather was nice enough that it wasn't an issue as far as keeping warm, just a loss of camping ambience, but still a beautiful spot and such a lovely haven from the heat of the valley and everywhere else down below. We would definitely come back!
