Lots of trees and shade. Had to switch sites from 5 to 3 because we couldn’t get the rv level but it worked out fine. Busy on the weekend but very quiet on weekdays.

We arrived at Painted Rocks to find every water spigot covered in trash bags. So no water. There was no notice. There are also significant ruts lining the dirt road, so like other reviews, that is a potential issue.
Luckily there are a couple other campgrounds close by. We stayed at the South Meadows campground just down the road. The host was very kind and it was clean and had water. We very much enjoyed the paved and gravel path that runs along 67.

A great small campground, quiet except for the yeti or coyotes barking. The scenery is fantastic with all the hoodoos to see. Definitely recommend.

Great site! The driveway is indeed rutted so pay attention to the site description. Difficult for non AWD. The campground overall was great. Lots of space between sites, mostly quiet, no highway sounds. One guy was running a generator some, and there were a handful of ATVs rolling through, which are loud. Signs say no ATVs so not sure if it just wasn’t being enforced, or what.
