Great discovery for Durango. Location is only 5 mi from town yet up in the woods. This was our second year here and will be back next year. The hosts are super friendly and helpful (Beverly, Dean, Dennis) and the bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen. Sites are very well spaced into loops so traffic and noise were minimal as you only had traffic for your loop. Durango community center was also a great find (for workouts and showers) and only 5 mi down the hill. The last mile up the hill is unpaved but pretty well maintained. Lots of great hiking near by and creek walking distance from campground.

The camp host was the best.....(I think Beverly - sorry I'm horrible at names). She will do anything to make sure everyone's stay is perfect. She made the place awesome.

Well spaced sites, some requiring leveling. Multiple water spigots available but only two for RV tank filling. Vault toilets clean and odorless. Good shade on most sites. Some sites close (but not adjacent) to Colorado Trail for hiking/biking access. Road in was approximately 2 mi of well graded gravel. Responsive and receptive hosts. Site adjusting possible on site

Location & Directions for Junction Creek Campground
From Main Street in Durango, travel west on 25th Street (across from the fairgrounds entrance) for just over three miles, to the forest boundary. Continue just over a mile to the campground entrance. The day-use area loops to the left.

The extended summer season will continue starting 9/27 through 10/18/2025, FCFS only campsites. No Water will be available during this time. Please plan accordingly. Restrooms and trash service will still be available. Host onsite.
