We had a great stay at Junction Creek Site 4 Loop D. The campsite was great with plenty of shade, very well maintained restrooms, and an amazing host. It was remote but yet a quick drive to get into the town of Durango. There were hiking trails nearby. We were able to walk to the host site from our campsite to buy firewood. The only negative was our campsite location felt like we were in the middle of a circle of surrounding campsites and did not offer much privacy. Because of this, we could hear everything going on at all surrounding campsites.

So close to Durango, but far enough down a forest road you would never know. The walk down to the creek is a must, pretty abundant trout. The location on Colorado Trail is pretty optimal. Clean, well kept as was our experience elsewhere in Colorado forests.

Really loved Junction Creek! The sites were large and plenty of space between each campsite. The proximity to the Colorado Trail and Junction Creek was great. The campground was clean and well kept. The location was really convenient to downtown Durango. I would definitely recommend if you need a place to camp while visiting Durango or Silverton.

Only one side of outhouse open The other side locked. Imagine so they only had to clean 1/2. They turn the electricity off for some reason. No snow not horrible cold! Needs to be noted on recreation site.

We stayed here when we came to Durango to ride the train to Silverton and back. We had a great stay! The site was clean and very well-kept. The pit toilets were the cleanest pit toilets I’ve ever seen! It was a very beautiful campground and a short drive into the town.
