Junction Creek Campground

Fabulous campground with spacious sites and very attentive park staff. Close to Durango yet very quiet and beautiful.

Beautiful, quiet. the sites are far enough apart so that you have privacy. The bathrooms are spotless.

Great campground with large ponderosa pine and juniper. The sites are separated by enough space to give a sense of privacy. One loop has electricity with two "double" sites. Good for mountain bikers and hikers as trails are nearby.

Campsites in loop E are very private…250’ plus between sites. All are easily accessible. Situated in a beautiful forest…one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed in.

We loved our stay in Loop E Site 10. We felt like we were camping without neighbors as the table was up a few steps that made it feel very private. The tent pad was an excellent patio for us in the morning to enjoy the sun rising and provided a perfect view of our own private meadow with tree backdrop. We have a 25' camper with no slides so the driveway still allowed us to have a patio area near the camper with plenty of parking room for the truck. We did use the potable water to fill our tank. The spigots do not have threads, so you will need an adapter.

Beautiful site, clean outhouses, and nothing out of sorts.

Most of the sites at Junction Creek Campground are well spaced out giving you lots of privacy. The sites themselves are spacious giving you lots of room to spread out. There are a number of double sites- it’s unfortunate that you have to pay for both spaces in the double site if that is all that is left. The bathrooms are immaculate for pit toilets- some of the cleanest we’ve ever experienced. This campground had at least 5 camp-hosts; the most we’ve ever seen at any campground. Despite the number we only saw them cruise by on their golf carts, never stopping to speak with campers. Durango is very close by- we highly recommend the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge railroad- a fun way to see the area, as well as the beautiful San Juan Skyway for awesome views of the area! We would definitely return to the campground.

The campground was clean and well maintained. The staff was outstanding. It was great that firewood was available on site, it made the whole camping experience overall fantastic.

Amazing. We had a spectacular wedding here. The outhouses were immaculate and the facilities were perfectly clean. It's got an excellent pavilion, plenty of parking, power available and lots of tables. I'd give it 6 out of 5 if I could. These must be incredible hosts.

Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Many transient, overnighters at this park. But surprisingly, one of the quietest parks we have visited. A mountain biker attraction due to the trail system. This too was no interruption of the quiet, peaceful park. We enjoyed the family of deer that roamed the park. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would easily come here again. Thanks to the wonderful camp hosts.
