Definitely one of our favorite campgrounds. There was a lot of space in the trees helped divide spaces between campsites. You could still hear some neighbors, but it wasn’t bad. Most people were respectful. The camp hosts were great and friendly, and the place was quite clean. Will definitely be back.

Huge wooded sites with the cleanest vault toilets I've ever seen at a campground. Conveniently close to Durango and lots of hiking trails including the CO Trail.

Many previous reviews of this campground, mentioned a very poor gravel road. That road has been recently paved. We did not encounter any gravel until reaching the campground. The camp host that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The pit toilets I looked at were very clean. The campsites were spaced nicely so it provide some privacy. We stayed in the loop with electric hook ups which were working properly. We stayed in late May and there were no bears or mosquitoes. We would stay here again.

Incredibly well maintained campground. Sites are very spread out and private, set beneath towering pines.

We had a great stay at Junction Creek Site 4 Loop D. The campsite was great with plenty of shade, very well maintained restrooms, and an amazing host. It was remote but yet a quick drive to get into the town of Durango. There were hiking trails nearby. We were able to walk to the host site from our campsite to buy firewood. The only negative was our campsite location felt like we were in the middle of a circle of surrounding campsites and did not offer much privacy. Because of this, we could hear everything going on at all surrounding campsites.
