Site was beautiful, with shade and most of all privacy. Staff was friendly and helpful. There always seemed to be plenty of FF sites for those looking.

Junction Creek campground is one of the cleanest campgrounds I’ve ever camped at. The vault toilets are pristine, the water supply is good the road access is good and the individual campsites are spaced well. The camp hosts are available and very helpful. Camp host Lana ensured that we had everything we needed. The road access from Durango is well maintained. The group sites offer endless possibilities for organizations. Overall I give Junction Creek campground an A+.

One of the cleanest forest service campgrounds we have ever stayed at. This site was a great view next to trails down to the River. The only problem is there is not a clear tent spot so you may be slanted on a bit of a hill.

Getting There
From Main Street in Durango, travel west on 25th Street (across from the fairgrounds entrance) for just over three miles, to the forest boundary. Continue just over a mile to the campground entrance. The day-use area loops to the left.

General
- The extended summer season will continue starting 9/27 through 10/18/2025, FCFS only campsites. No Water will be available during this time. Please plan accordingly. Restrooms and trash service will still be available. Host onsite.
- This is bear country; please practice safe food storage techniques
