Aspenglen is my favorite RMNP campground --- bar none! If necessary, I stay in Moraine (but only at a view site on the C loop). But generally I prefer Aspenglen for the sound of rushing water and being at a distance from the RVs! (Moraine has an overabundance of RVs and the sound of the generators in the evening is the price of camping there..)
Camping in an Aspenglen walk-in site is the highlight of my summers in Colorado!

Easy access from the park entrance, and very quiet. Bathrooms and sites were clean, and we enjoyed our stay

River is magnificent so park close by. Restrooms were kept up very well. I suggest also checking out Alberta Falls

We had an incredible time! We came during Memorial Day weekend, and while most of the hiking trails we checked out were covered in snow, Aspenglen campsite was completely dry. Although the park lacks showers, we were able to visit a laundromat in Estes Park (~10-minute drive from the campsite) where they had showers for us to use. Don't let the lack of showers intimidate you- the convenience of Estes Park makes this a great option for families or first-time campers. It rained one night and we were able to go into town and have dinner and then breakfast the next morning rather than having to fight with the elements to get a fire started.

this is a small campground surrounded by woods unlike Moraine or Glacier. Almost every site backs onto wilderness and you must be very alert to wildlife and bear proofing here. I had what appears to be a mountain lion on my site this year and several years ago while visiting the host told me that they have had bear in camp. Be prepared to take this seriously so as not to endanger your family or others.

Excellent Campground. Extremely well maintained. Camphosts are super friendly. Restrooms are better then most public restrooms! We had walk to site E and it was absolutely gorgeous. Right next to the river and slept like a baby! Highly recommend Site E and C.
