What Guests Are Saying
North Fruita Desert Campground offers fantastic sites with great access to mountain biking trails, making it an ideal spot for family trips. The campground is clean, well-marked, and features nicely wooded areas for shade, along with newly paved access roads. However, some campsites are close together, which can lead to noise, and visitors are advised to bring their own toilet paper as supplies may run out.

Campground met our expectations and was a great option for being close to trails. The E spots have crushed rocks to pitch tents on, the others appear to have sand tent pads which is probably more comfortable. Be prepared for a long bumpy road to get to the campground, towing a small trailer we had to drive about 10mph.

Trails are wonderful! The process of reserving, selecting, and getting the campsite was difficult. Could not figure out how to change reservation to switch campsites online, but the park was empty so we just moved… still had a nice trip tho

The reservation system is cumbersome. I sadly feel that customer service is not a priority and that there is a serious disconnect between the "system" and the parkstaff and customers. Is the only goal to make money?? That is what it seems like to all of us who have seen the befores and afters of this system.

It's always hard to see one of your favorite places change, but we appreciate the management of the highly used camping areas, both for the sanitary additions of the bathrooms and the campsites and parking lot. Thanks to the employees who got it done and keep it running, keep up the good work!
The generous sizes of the sites is terrific. Hopefully people respect the boundaries and it can continue to be loosely managed, we sure do like sharing sites with multiple campers and cars etc.
It's also a bonus to be able to reserve a spot ahead of time when you're driving from 4hrs away down out of the mountains after work. Hopefully the no-show policy can get worked out, there seemed to be a huge number of empty spaces during the peak weekends we spent there this past May.
See you again soon!

This particular spot is definitely meant for non-tent campers. The picnic table and fire pit take up the entire flat area and don’t leave any real estate for a tent of really any size.

Campground is well organized. Vault toilets are clean. Space between campsites gives a good sense of privacy at least in the A loop. A trash dumpster would be helpful.
