What Guests Are Saying
North Fruita Desert Campground offers fantastic sites with great access to mountain biking trails, making it an ideal spot for family trips. The campground is clean, well-marked, and features nicely wooded areas for shade, along with newly paved access roads. However, some campsites are close together, which can lead to noise, and visitors are advised to bring their own toilet paper as supplies may run out.

The trail system is amazing, and the camping, if you have the right rig, is awesome as well. The upper campground is not for large rigs, in fact most dual axle RV trailers will be too big. It can be done, but expect some challenges. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful campground, great location among the mtb trails. Love the new paved road driving into the campground. Overpriced for what you get. Not enough bathrooms, place was empty but waited every morning to get into the pit toilet. No water, no place to dump trash. I would come back again to ride the trails.

We really enjoyed this site—great trails and beautiful surroundings. The only downside was that the previous visitors left behind their trash, which was unfortunate. Shame on them. Still, we’d definitely stay here again.

Overall, the campground is great. Very pretty. We came in July and it was not busy at all.
Some spots can be super windy.
Our gripe was that three people came into the campground around 11pm to the large parking lot (event staging area) and started yelling and shooting a weapon. When we contacted police they basically told us the area was “open to shooting.” It made for a horrible night’s sleep.

The campsite was nice and quiet with a concrete picnic table and firepit. No shade. We didn't realize at first that the site we reserved was actually two sites, one on each side, but it turned out fine. The campsite is very convenient to the mountain bike trails. The major downside right now is the road construction entering the site. We happened to arrive right after a big rainstorm and our camper and truck were covered with very intractable mud that was extremely difficult to remove. Once the road construction is completed, it should be great. We didn't use the restrooms because we have our own, so I can't speak to that.
