C63 was a very private site and relatively shaded - highly recommended! It looked like the sites near ours also had some privacy. We came in from Estes Park, Trail Ridge Road, it was an incredible (high) journey into the park, and then getting to Grand Lake is a breeze. I actually got engaged on the Colorado River Trail, right nearby, so this area will always hold a special place in my heart. It's quiet, trails aren't crowded, and for National Park sites, you have a good amount of privacy. A flush toilet was a benefit!

I was there 2 nights and it was a terrible experience with the host doing nothing about excessive sound. The first night at 3 AM people decided to loudly pack up camp for 30 minutes, idle motors and leave head light on. Then a little after 7 am the site next to me fired up a generator. The second evening was followed by numerous generators running until 8 PM, loud music for hours, and drunken yelling for hours. The following morning a little after 7 am the generator fired up at the site next to me again. DO NOT STAY HERE if you like any sort of quiet and expect the host to manage the guests.

All the staff were friendly and helpful and the campsites spacious and well maintained. A beautiful view and experience. We don’t feel that campfires should be allowed at this time of year given the extreme dryness of the surrounding vegetation. The camp host stated that they could have given our campsite away as we were gone all day even though we had a current reservation and a sign posted that the site was reserved and we would be returning. This is an issue that needs to be addressed with camp hosts at this Park.
